How we handle information across our website, account portal, and modules.
Last updated: October 31, 2026
S5 Modules is a brand of S5 Software Co. LLC ("S5," "we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains how information is handled when you use s5modules.com, your S5 Modules account, our Ignition modules, and our support services.
For privacy questions or requests, contact support@s5modules.com.
Information We Collect
- Account information: your email address, name if provided, password in hashed form, and information needed to verify and secure your account. We do not store your account password in readable form.
- Purchase, billing, tax, and licensing information: the products and editions you select, purchase and payment details, billing and tax information such as the address you provide at checkout, purchase-term acceptance, license keys and status, subscription plan, billing period, paid-through date, renewal and cancellation status, maintenance coverage, trial eligibility, and license transfers. This may include company and contact details and device or Gateway identifiers or labels relevant to a license.
- Website and download activity: information such as IP address, browser or client details, request times, pages requested, errors, and security events may be processed by our hosting services. We record account-linked module downloads, including the version, time, and available IP address and browser information.
- Support information: your email address, messages, module and Ignition versions, descriptions of problems, and any diagnostics or other material you choose to send.
Stripe collects payment details directly through its checkout service and holds payment methods used for recurring subscription charges. S5 does not hold those payment methods. We keep subscription status and billing records needed to administer your subscription. You can manage billing through Stripe from your S5 Modules account. Our application does not receive or store your full payment-card number or security code. We receive payment confirmations and transaction information needed to fulfill and administer your purchase.
How We Use Information
We use information to create and secure accounts, verify email addresses, process purchases and recurring subscription payments, manage renewals and cancellations, issue and validate licenses, manage trials and downloads, provide support, investigate defects, and send account, security, and service-related messages. We also use relevant records to prevent abuse, enforce license and trial limits, resolve disputes, and meet applicable legal and accounting obligations.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, these purposes may involve performing our agreement with you, complying with legal obligations, or our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service. Where consent is required for a particular use, we will obtain it. Providing information needed for an account, payment, or license is necessary to use those services; you can browse public pages without creating an account.
Service Providers and Other Disclosures
We use service providers for website hosting and downloads, account storage, payment processing, software licensing, and email delivery. They receive information relevant to those services, including account and purchase details, licensing information, recipient addresses and email message contents. Messages may include license keys when delivered by email. Support messages and materials you submit may also be processed by our email services.
We may also disclose relevant information when required by law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, security incidents, legal claims, or protection of our customers and services. We do not operate an advertising-data sales or targeted-advertising program.
Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live. Their applicable terms and privacy notices describe their own processing. A provider's retention or data-use settings are not determined solely by this policy.
Information Handled by the Modules
Licensing
The modules contact Keygen, our licensing provider, for activation and periodic validation. They share the license key and a stable identifier derived from operating-system account and device information, or from Gateway information for a Gateway license. The identifier is hashed but is not anonymous and can link licensing activity across S5 modules. Keygen also receives connection information such as IP address and request time. We can access licensing and activation records through Keygen.
AI Features
When you use AI features, requests go directly from your workstation to the AI provider or endpoint you select, using your API key. S5 does not operate an intermediary or automatically receive those requests, responses, project content, or your AI provider API key. We may receive information you choose to send us for support.
Requests include your instructions and relevant conversation or project context. Depending on the feature and your settings, this may include images you attach, project and resource names, view configurations, code and scripts, SQL and database information, tag configuration and live values, and samples of query results.
AI Assistant can automatically read and send additional project context while responding to a request, without asking you to approve each read. Its controls for project structure, resource contents, tag configuration, live tag values, database information and query-result samples, and attached images are enabled by default unless you or a Gateway administrator restrict them. These controls do not retract information already sent, and outgoing content is not automatically redacted. Review what you provide and use AI features only with information you are authorized to share with your selected provider.
The provider or endpoint you select handles AI requests under its own terms, account settings, and privacy practices, including retention and any use for training. Review those terms before sending information. We do not promise a particular retention period or training exclusion on a provider's behalf.
Local Storage
The modules store settings, credentials and licensing information, conversations, and diagnostic or activity information on your workstation or Gateway, depending on the module. On Windows, AI provider API keys are protected for the current Windows user when that protection is available. If it is unavailable, the module stores the API key without encryption and identifies that fallback in Settings. Module license keys are stored locally without encryption. Protect access to these systems and their backups, especially on shared machines.
Some local records may contain conversations, project or resource names, problem descriptions, the operating-system username, or actions taken. What is retained varies by module.
Local files can remain after uninstalling. Trial-eligibility information can remain after a trial, key removal, or reinstall. Removing a key or clearing history does not necessarily remove other local records or backups. Contact support for guidance before removing information needed for licensing or operation.
Diagnostics and Support Reports
The modules do not automatically upload telemetry, analytics, or crash reports to S5. Opening a manual, account, or bug-report link opens the website in your browser without attaching project data or diagnostics. The website then handles the visit as described above.
Copy Diagnostics copies information to your clipboard; it does not send it to S5. Diagnostics may contain device, project, licensing, and log information, including sensitive content. Review it and remove secrets, personal information, or confidential project details before sharing it with support.
When you submit a bug report, we receive the information you enter and your verified account email address through our support email workflow. Material you send voluntarily may include information that the modules would not otherwise send to S5. We use it to investigate and respond to your request.
Cookies and Browser Information
The account portal uses essential cookies for sign-in, session management, and request security. Blocking or clearing these cookies may prevent account features from working or sign you out. Our website does not include advertising pixels or cross-site advertising trackers, and it does not change its behavior in response to a browser's Do Not Track signal.
Third-party services you visit, including Stripe checkout and AI providers, may use their own cookies or similar technologies under their policies. This policy does not govern those separate services.
Retention
Retention depends on the type of information and why it is needed. We retain account, purchase, licensing, support, and security information as needed to provide services and ongoing license rights, administer downloads and support, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and meet legal or accounting obligations.
Trial-eligibility records remain after a trial to enforce repeat-trial restrictions; they do not automatically expire when the trial ends. Closing an account or uninstalling a module does not automatically erase purchase, licensing, trial, support, or provider records.
We assess deletion requests against these purposes and applicable law. Local module files and customer-managed backups remain under your or your organization's control. Service providers also maintain records under their applicable terms and retention practices.
Your Choices and Privacy Requests
You can choose not to use AI features, remove configured keys, use available local history controls, decline to submit optional diagnostics, and manage browser cookies. These choices may limit the features available to you.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, or to restrict or object to certain processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. You may also have a right to complain to a relevant privacy regulator.
To make a request, email support@s5modules.com from your account address when possible and describe your request. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting. If you ask us to close your account, contact us about access to any perpetual licenses you own. Some information may need to be retained for legal obligations, security, or ongoing license rights. Please do not send passwords, full payment-card details, API keys, or license keys with a privacy request.
Security, Children, and Policy Changes
We use access controls and other safeguards designed to protect information. No system or transmission method is completely secure. Keep your account credentials and module keys private and protect access to your workstation and Gateway.
Our services are intended for professional users and are not directed to children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
We may update this policy as our services or practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision. We will provide additional notice where required by applicable law.
